Final Fantasy VII is a console role-playing game developed by Square (now Square Enix) and published by Sony Computer Entertainment as the seventh installment in the Final Fantasy series. It was released in 1997 for Sony's PlayStation and in 1998 for Microsoft's Windows-based personal computers. The game is the first in the series to use 3D computer graphics, featuring fully rendered characters on pre-rendered backgrounds.

Set in a dystopian world, Final Fantasy VII's story centers on the powerful megacorporation Shinra, which is draining the life of the planet to use as an energy source. Players follow a young mercenary named Cloud Strife, who joins with several others to stop Shinra. Later in the story, the main antagonist, Sephiroth, develops a plan to summon a meteor with the intention of injuring the planet to a point where it would gather massive amounts of its life force in one spot. This would allow Sephiroth to collect all the life force and gain control of all living beings.

Development of Final Fantasy VII began in 1994 and the game was originally only intended for the SNES, but it was later moved to the Nintendo 64. As the system's cartridges lacked space, Square decided to release the game for Sony's PlayStation instead. The music was scored by Final Fantasy veteran Nobuo Uematsu, while the series' long-time character designer, Yoshitaka Amano, was replaced by Tetsuya Nomura.

The game was a major critical and commercial success, and remains arguably the most popular title in the series. As of December 2005, Final Fantasy VII has sold more than 9.8 million copies worldwide, earning it the position of the best-selling Final Fantasy title and the second-best-selling PlayStation game of all-time. The ongoing popularity of the title led Square Enix to produce a series of sequels and prequels under the collective title Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.

I love the fact that genious ideas never dies...
CoOL~
I just downloaded it but when i open the file it installed on my computer the screen just stays black and nothing goes...seems like the download was good

i am trying to run it on Vista service pack 1 does anybody know ifs compatible or not?
my laptop doesn't have a numeric keypad and i don't have an external pad, is there anyway i can still play this??
even with the external keypad (which you can find at any refurbishment or electronic retail store) I don't believe it was intended to stretch it's capacity that far. This thing is well over 10 years old after all. I'd say stick with XP on a desktop machine, maybe even a linux distro with Whine
i have a problem when i open the file it installed on my computer the screen just stays black i run a win xp service pack 2
I installed the 1.4 XP patch, but now the game won't start as it ask for the CD. I checked GameCopyWorld but there was no no-cd crack there. What to do?
I've never played 7th part I've played 9th.Is this good as 9th part of the game???
kill1er are you kidding this is one of the best games of all time and ff9 wasnt very good get this game then look for ff8
Thank you so much for the upload. Currently dl at around 450Kb/s. Love this game.
works great for me, running on vista 32-bit sp2

thanks!
dunno, i like FFV7, FF8, FF9 and FF10... all of them are good!
BTW, I have FF10 for PS2, lemmy know if anyone's interested, I can rip it...
awesome game, but just wanted to know if it was possible to play this game in window mode or something?
My dl is only 20/kbs but when its finished i will seed for the next day or so.
kerrda. There is no SP2 for vista ANY bit yet.
Ashamal V.GOOD upload :)
I have to say i shall be seeding this :P
I remember playing this when it came out, god i was about 5-6 LOL.
Lil me. Lmfao. Well anyways good up.
"insert cd 1, 2 or 3" umm I do have daemon tools and all but... This torrent didn't give me anything to mount... D8
I followed all the instructions that came from:

http://deadaimgames.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!23D808D5C5803715!427.entry

Still i get a message that says: Please insert FF7 Game Disc 1, 2, or 3 and try again.

Please help me.
Ok, i got the game to start up now but now i'm experiencing just that the screen is turning black. I can hear the sound from the game (think it is a trademark before the actual game starts up).

Anyone here that can help me with that ?
Nvm the above comments. I got this messed up with another version of this game on this site.

My bad :)
Downloaded this very fast download and game runs great but i have noticed there are sounds missing and the music is different in places compared to the psx version is this normal for the pc version. And an example of the missing sounds is the second boss makes no sounds on the cutscene anyone else experiance this??
To the question about window mode. Any game can be run in window mode (just about.) Right click on your shortcut to the game. Add -window to the end of the "Start in" line. It should now open in a window.
For anyone that figured it out, I am getting the "insert disk 1, 2, or 3" error message. I feel like I am so close to getting this to work, haha. Any help would be very much appreciated. I am running it on XP pro SP3. Thanks a lot.
hope it works =D i had this game but i lent it to a friend...[shifty eyes]...haven't seen it for a while
ANYBODY PLEASE HELP WITH THIS 'INSERT DISC 1, 2 or 3' PROBLEM!!

After installing the 1.4 patch such a message shows up everytime I run the game. Without the patch the game hangs just after starting it with the screen staying black and some music playing.

BTW there's a strange file cdcheck in the game's directory which cannot be removed.

Please help anyone!
ok figured it out already. for those who haven't: uninstall the game, uninstall your codecs and filters and install the game once again including the codecs attached. enjoy
thanks for the upload... pls upload ffX and FFX2 if u have time... many thanks!!!
Which codecs do you uninstall, and how do you uninstall them?
Also, where are the codecs in the torrent to install? Sorry for all the noob questions, I just have never done anything concerning codecs before.
Nevermind, figured it out. Now I just need to get the laptop patch to work :/
Well if you did figure it out, why not explain it for the future generations. Insert CD 1/2/3 problem fix?/What went wrong with codec installation
The game installed and all. I just cant seem to move the cursor to start the game. Do I need a joystick or something?
I'm Vista BTW. I just installed normally
that "insert cd 1, 2,3 etc" can be fixed by using "no cd" patch that can be found in "goodies" folder after extracting stuff..

but i wonder how to get it work further than just select new game and then screen goes black :/
guess have to check out other patches..
about black screen, just reinstall game and make sure u install all it says, also player and filter, first time i didn't install one of them but after reinstalling and do everything there was said now everything works great so far...
thnx for this torent btw :)
Hi installed the game with all the codecs and all, and then the 1,4 patch. But when i start the game i only get the message from microsoft that "ff.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close", does anyone know what the problem is? please help me i really want to play this game
Hey Asham , were u able to do a rip of FFX? I mean , so I wont have to use a PS2 emulator to run it? Would very much appriciate it :)
Awesome torrent, worked great first go round no patches required (So far) Benn looking for this game for a while now and was too happy to find this, Thnx!
Where do I put the no cd crack?
wicked...best game eeeeeever. thanks
Thanks for the torrent! Much better than paying +$100

Seeding...
ugh im getting this green line grid thing (sometimes turns other colors :/) when i play this. any patches i need?
also sporadic crashes... now i gott run up those damn stairs again DX
nice upload :3 had a little trouble installing but works fine now. will seed until ratio turns 1.5+ so I won't be called a "hit and run/
i've experienced the game crashing at the submarine scene on the 2nd cd. can you guys tell me which patch to use to fix it?
Downloaded recently. very good, though i got a few crashes but i re-opened the game and it was fine. some errors you cant explain. finished it in about a week. very good game.

Thanks
If it doesn't say it, it probably doesn't have it.

Ahh, reminiscing of some odd years ago when i owned FF 7,8,9, then later 10. I recently purchased 10 again, and the nostalgia overwhelmed me and I had to have more. So here I am. Currently dling. I hope there isn't too many things wrong, with it. My methods: Download, Install, I use Daemon Tools. And everything should swim alright, right? But, I've never encountered a game where you needed to uninstall your system codecs. Tell me if I'm missing something with this certain torrent. How about a joystick? Do I need to actually spend money?!?!!

Will make sure to upload more than I got. All help welcome.
Downloaded, it works without having to mount, cuz there isn't anything to do it with, no patch or anything you can start it up right after the dl. But there are some crashes, I don't exactly know how many I haven't gotten past the first yet becuase of them. Around the First boss is when i get the crash i'm looking into it, if your trying to install patches, like 1.02? I installed then it asked me for the disks. I think someone mentioned a No CD crack. I'll look for it. The chocobo patch didn't exactly work for mine. Though, I only tried it on 1.01. I'll find the No-CD Crack and try again, I recommend the High Resolution patches, HD Characters, and the Advent children one. I'll comment back with my progress.
[Final Update]
http://home.comcast.net/~whogie/other/FF7NoCD.zip

Once you've downloaded this torrent, click this link. It installs the Chocobo patch, and 1.02 along with a NO-CD Crack. Then afterwards you can start installing the other various patches. If your going to install the High Resolution Patch do it before you click the link.

No crashes after this. But one thing still remains a problem. The Sound, I heard of FF7Music and it helping to correct the terrible MIDI effects.[Alot of missed and offbeat audio] Well that's all i'm going to post for now, but if you have a way to fix the audio or have extremely detailed instructions on FF7Music. Please spit it out.
For anyone wondering about the sound thing:

The PC version of FF7 is notorious for being inferior compared to the PSX version. There is some missing material (in the reg version) plus poorly rendered midi sound instead of using vorbis digital audio like the psx version. Though FF7 Ultima corrected some of these errors, the shitty sound remains. If you really want better midis, download an ff7 midi pack (google it) and use those files to overwrite the ones in the music folder of the game. It's not going to be MUCH better, but it's better than nothing. Just keep in mind that, in 1998, most of a computer's processing power would go to just running this game and rendering the graphics, and the 1-2GB it took up installed with midi would be a significant chunk of an individual's computer.
This is the best fucking game ever made. No other FF can compare to this..
Works perfectly (im using Vista)

But one question.

How do I change the controls on my key board from 2, 4, 6, 8 to W, A, S, D?
Downloads fine, but as soon as I try to install it, the installer stops at "finalizing installation". When I run teh game, I get the new game screen, and then nothing.

Any ideas?
Shaothemerciful i have same problem.
God damnit!

This is the Ultima Edition!

GAH, I cannot find the actual PC version.. What bullshit.

Not gonna download from Ashamael again.
dude, when i start it up, it only shows a fourth of what it should be, any guys gonna help me?
same question as metalnova, where do i find the config for controls and such? all i can do is use the numpad for movement and such, how do i change the controls?
When I go into setup to install the game, I click Install, and then the menu goes away and nothing happens.. won't install. Anyone else have this happen or know what the problem is? I'm running Vista btw, if that makes a difference.
I've been trying to get this on my computer for years and it works! Thanks!

If you can't figure it out, search for more patches. And man up.
I'm running Vista, and the game downloads just fine. the Config screen works fine, and I've downloaded the Chocobo and the 1.02 patch for the game, as well as the truemotion codec. there's still a problem when i go to start the game. when i click on the file in the directory, i get the "please insert a disc and try again" message, and even though i downloaded the no-cd crack, whenever i start the game, i hear the music for the intro without seeing anything. after the intro music stops, the game freezes and i can't do anything. can someone lend me a hand?
Im pretty sure the full ver. is bigger than 1g.

Anyways, this torrent is years old.
